To make this as simple as possible this is assuming you know where your downloads go and you know how to extract zip files:ĭownload BigWigs from curse. I consider almost 50 add-ons "essential" (some do minor things like simply making the inspect window show item quality color (oGlow) but they are still "essential" in the sense something like that should be default in the UI) and curse definitely easier in every aspect installing an add-on. Yes, Curse page is worthless but it is not hard to get what you are looking for so it does its job just that Wowinterface does it 10 times faster and it doesnt look like it is aimed for a 7year old as Curse does I've never liked WoWI because last I used their site there was no auto-updater. There's nothing wrong with a few add-on devs wanting to host them on their own site only. Just like you love curse and only want to use curse, there is probably almost the same amount of people that want to avoid curse.

OP: If you are really THAT hardcore as to using curse only to download add-ons, you really are missing out on some great add-ons that don't like having to maintain them on multiple sites. Going to YouTube? Never see an add anywhere. I haven't seen a single ad in over 2 years on any site. I went over a friends house the other day to show him a few YouTube videos and was shocked by the amount of ads that get shown on the site, in videos, and everywhere else on the web. I am actually costing them money by using their bandwidth without giving them any ad revenue. Curse is NOT non-commercial, they make a huge profit from other peoples work.ĭownloading addons straight from the author's site is actually helping the people who MAKE the addons.Unless you are like any "fairly smart" internet user and uses Adblocking extensions for your browser.
